Last week I participated in Google Education on Air. It was a free PD event which happened to fall on our PD day and then the next day which was Saturday. This was a perfect opportunity for me to hear from several educators who I follow on Twitter or read their blogs. Not only was this a free PD opportunity that I could join in on from the office, it was also interactive. While the sessions were live, you could post questions in the chat or follow the hashtag (#GoogleEduOnAir) on Twitter and connect with the other educators who were watching too. I had to step out for a meeting in the afternoon and Saturday I had a family BBQ to attend, but guess what? All the sessions were recorded for on-demand playback and links to resources are available so I can go back and look at these resources when I have time. I look forward to going back and watching Kasey Bell’s session The best of both worlds: Google Apps for the iPad! and Jennie Magiera’s session Moving beyond Genius Hour: empowering students all day. There was a wide range of sessions with various perspectives, topics and audiences in mind. Day 1 was more big picture ideas and keynotes. There were more sessions offered on Day 2 and these sessions were more practical in nature. If you did not have a chance to participate go check out the resources by clicking the picture below.
